It is time to review home fire safety with your family

October is National Fire Prevention Month, and Valley Electric Association Journeyman Lineman Aaron Fritz and Apprentice Lineman Aaron Schneider performed safety demonstrations at a Home Deport Fire Safety workshop on Oct. 6.

VEA Line Crew Superintendent Tim Dunlap praised the two linemen for a job well done.

“I wanted to give these men a big shout out, for they did a great job at Home Depot,” said Tim.

“Not only did they answer all types of questions about electrical safety, but they fielded questions from the kids, too.”

Questions they fielded included: “What would cause a power bill to be high?” “How often do cars hit power poles?” and “What was the worst thing ever to get in the power lines?”

Aaron Fritz said he enjoys being out in the public doing the safety demos and is comfortable doing them with Aaron Schneider. He said he and Aaron Schneider both have a lot of experience with the demonstrations, having worked VEA’s Annual Meeting doing the same thing.

Both Aarons suggest VEA members take time to review home fire safety with their family.
