FOR NEW (NO PRE-EXISTING) IRRIGATION ELECTRIC SERVICE.

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS and FEES ARE REQUIRED TO INITIATE APPLICATION FOR SERVICE.
1. PROOF OF OWNERSHIP. A copy of ownership document for property on which service is to be located.
2. COUNTY APPROVED SITE PLAN (Stamped by County Planning Dept., indicating location of meter base and address.
3. NON-REFUNDABLE ENGINEERING FEE. $600.00. ALL IRRIGATION APPLICATIONS FOR SERVICE WILL HAVE AN INITIAL NON-REFUNDABLE ENGINEERING FEE OF $600.00. ADDITIONAL INSTALLATION, IMPACT, AND APPLICABLE LINE EXTENSION FEES WILL BE DETERMINED AFTER THE SITE MEET. CONSTRUCTION WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL ALL FEES ASSESSED AFTER THE SITE MEET HAVE BEEN PAID.
4. DEPOSIT (In addition to Installation Fee).
  Deposit: $51.00 multiplied by the Horsepower of the Irrigation pump ($51.00 HP)
  Credit Reference Letter from another ELECTRIC utility indicating 12 months of good payment history will be accepted in lieu of deposit.
5. CONSTRUCTION APPLICATION for ELECTRIC SERVICE.
  Print date, name(s) of person(s) listed on proof of ownership (deed, etc.), street address, city, and Assessors Parcel Number (APN) where indicated. Include service capacity (Amperage, Horsepower), and voltage requirements. Owner(s) grants and conveys to Valley Electric Association permission to provide access to install and maintain utility service facilities.
6. RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENT.
  Each prospective member will also be required to execute a Right-of-Way Easement for their property and may be required to secure Right-of-Way Easements from adjacent property owners upon whose land it may be necessary to locate power lines to serve Valley Electric Association members.
7. SERVICE LOAD CALCULATION WORKSHEET. See Chapter 2, National Electrical Code (NEC).

NOTE: Applications mailed or dropped off at VEA ‘s office will be returned to the individual requesting the service if any forms are missing or they are not properlv filled in.

NOTE: Consumer shall acquire all necessary easements required to serve property.

NOTE: Consumer shall provide PROFESSIONALLY surveyed property corner stakes.

NOTE: Consumer is responsible for meter base (underground service: trenching, conduit, and back-filling).

The $10 membership fee and the $60 non-refundable connect fee can be billed on your first statement with a credit reference letter showing zero late payments in the last 12 months of service from another power company. If no credit reference letter is available, the deposit is equal to two times the highest actual monthly bill at that particular address. You can choose the date to have your bill due each month if desired. Please specify a date between the 1st and the 28th of the month.

You may also choose to have a pre-paid account. If you choose to put the account on pre-pay, please also provide the following:
- A pre-paid electric service signed agreement
- $10 membership fee
- $60 connect fee
- a minimum of $50 on your account

Application for New Membership

Agreement established, between Valley Electric Association (VEA), and _____________________ (hereinafter called the “MEMBER”) upon the following terms and conditions:
1. This membership shall be effective upon acceptance of this application, and all rights and privileges thereto shall continue as long as the member (a) purchases electric energy from VEA and (b) complies with and be bound by the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, the Amended Bylaws of VEA and any amendments thereto and such Rules and Regulations, service policies and billing procedures as may from time to time be adopted by the Board of Directors.
2. The MEMBER, by becoming a member, assumes no personal liability or responsibility for any debts or liabilities of VEA, and it is expressly understood that under the law the MEMBER’S private property cannot be attached for any debts or liabilities of VEA.
3. The MEMBER, through this application and agreement, and in consideration of VEA’S furnishing electric service, hereby grants and conveys all necessary and convenient right-of-way, easements, rights of ingress and egress to VEA for the purposes of installing, furnishing and maintaining electric service and facilities to the MEMBER, which shall include the right to clear right of-way. MEMBER agrees to work with and provide easement to VEA for extending new facilities or relocation of existing facilities.
4. Production or use of electric energy on the MEMBER’S premises, regardless of the source thereof, by means of facilities, which shall be interconnected with VEA facilities, shall be subject to appropriate Rules and Regulations as shall be adopted by VEA. Such facilities interconnected with VEA’S facilities shall require execution of an Interconnection Agreement between the MEMBER and VEA.
5. SIGNING this agreement constitutes permission to collect previous credit information for the purpose of determining payment history.
6. In the event the MEMBER defaults on any charges for electric service, construction, extension or any other accounts, VEA shall have the right to collect the entire balance of all monies due and VEA may elect any remedy at law as well as the right to disconnect its electric facilities and lines; in the event of an action at law to enforce collection, the MEMBER agrees to pay VEA’S collection costs ,attorney fees and court costs.
7. VEA shall have the right to apply any or all the MEMBER’S unretired Patronage Capital toward the payment of the MEMBER’S unpaid billing balance(s).
8. The MEMBER’S membership in VEA and termination or withdrawal of membership shall be governed by the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, the Amended Bylaws of VEA and any amendments thereto and such Rules and Regulations, service policies and billing procedures as may from time to time be adopted by the board of Directors.
9. CONTINUITY OF SERVICE: VEA shall use reasonable diligence to provide a constant and uninterrupted supply of electric power and energy hereunder. If the supply of electric power shall fail or be interrupted, or become defective through an act of God, Government authority, action of the elements, public enemy, accident, labor trouble, required maintenance work, inability to secure right-of-way or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of VEA, VEA shall therefore not be liable for damages caused thereby.
10. BY SIGNING this application and agreement, the patrons of VEA, by dealing with VEA, acknowledge that the terms and provisions of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws shall constitute and be a contract between VEA and each patron, and both VEA and the patrons are bound by such contract, as fully as though each patron had individually signed a separate instrument containing such terms and provision. The provisions of this Article of the Bylaws shall be called to the attention of each patron of VEA.
11. SUCCESSION AND APPROVAL: This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the successors, legal representatives and assigns of the respective parties hereto. It is agreed that the venue for the enforcement or interpretation of the Agreement shall be Nye County, Nevada.

To establish electric service for your business, please complete the attached application. Return the completed form with a photo ID of at least one signer on the application. A Tax ID number or other documentation showing eligibility to conduct business in the state of Nevada is also required to start a business account.

The $10 membership fee can be billed on your first statement with a credit reference letter in the name of the business showing zero late payments in the last twelve months of service with another power company. If no credit reference letter is available, the deposit is equal to two times the highest actual monthly bill at that particular address or a minimum of $300. The $60 non-refundable connect fee will be billed on your first billing statement.

You can choose the date to have your bill due each month if desired. Please specify any date between the he 1st and the 28th of the month.

2. PAYMENT

The Owner agrees to pay the Association for service hereunder at the rates and upon the terms and conditions set forth in the appropriate rate classification for this service. The Association will determine the rate/construction classification. Owner also agrees to pay any and all amounts associated with the installation of underground/overhead service as designated within the Rules and Regulations of the Association.

3. CONDITIONS

Service shall be rendered at rates and conditions in effect or that may become effective during the time the service is rendered as set forth in the Association’s tariff schedules and approved by the Association’s Board of Directors. The Owner agrees to provide any required underground service trench in conformance with the Association’s specifications from the Association distribution facilities to an approved electric service termination facility. Applications for service not completed within 90 days from the time it is received in our Construction Department will be closed and unencumbered fees returned. The 90- day period pertains to consumer/applicant delays and does not include VEA construction delays.
4. RIGHTS-OF-WAY

Owner(s) of the above described property do hereby grant and convey to Valley Electric Association permission to provide access to install and maintain utility service facilities.

Extension of power lines necessary to supply electric service will be made by the Association only upon and across properties on which it has the legal right to construct, maintain and operate power lines, and upon lands and real property over which rights-of-way satisfactory to the Association can be obtained without cost to the Association. Each prospective member may also be requested to secure all necessary and convenient rights-of-way from adjacent property owners upon whose land it may be necessary to locate the lines to serve such members.

1. The nameplate rating of all appliances that are fastened in place, permanently connected, or located to be on a specific circuit (Water heaters, space heaters, ranges, refrigerators, etc.).
2. 180 VA for each general-use receptacle.
3. Maximum VA of lighting fixtures.
4. VA of all motors based on full load amps from table 430-147, 148, 149, and 150 of the NEC.
Calculated Demand Load:

The connected load after any code required adjustment factor has been applied.
Load calculations shall be submitted/expressed in VA and converted to amps when sizing feeders and equipment.
