Technical Services Coordinator

Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA) has an immediate opening for a Technical Services Administrator to work in our headquarters located in Pahrump, Nevada.

The Technical Services Coordinator is responsible for providing advanced, diverse and complex administrative support to executive management for Valley Electric’s Engineering, Operations, and Power Supply Functions. This includes Executive Administration for senior leadership, as well as general analysis and tracking of strategic objectives for Valley’s technical areas. This may include budgeting and financial forecasting, preparation of board materials and public presentations, and development of cost-benefit analysis for potential electric cooperative decisions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with two years related experience, or Associates degree with five years related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and skills that would satisfy the requirements of this position.

Knowledge Abilities and Skills: Working knowledge of all office procedures, equipment, and administrative functions. Some knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and of computerized accounting. Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers in a professional and courteous manner. Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint/Canva) preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical information and documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several tangible variables in standardized situations. Must have the ability to be flexible, organized, decisive, and able to take the initiative in understanding to carry out problem-solving in standardized situations. Must have the ability to possess a Medic First Aid Card (CPR inclusive).
