Call Center Representative

Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA) has immediate openings for a CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE to work in our headquarters located in Pahrump, Nevada.

Valley Electric Association, Inc., (VEA) is a member-owned electric cooperative based in Pahrump, Nevada, with a certified service area covering more than 6,800 square miles in Nevada and California. VEA presently provides service to over 24,000 services with 2,120 line miles of distribution facilities and 13 substations.  VEA is a participating transmission owner and load serving entity in the California Independent System of Operators Corporation (CAISO).

VEA is the parent company to a host of wholly-owned subsidiaries, including Valley Electric Transmission Association (VETA), Valley Communication Association (VCA), and SolPower.

VCA (Valley Communications Association), is a wholly-owned subsidiary based in Pahrump, NV, and will offer commercial and residential optical fiber broadband service, with speeds up to 1 gigabit, to VEA members throughout Nevada.

The Call Center Representative is responsible for call center work which involves assisting customers by telephone, receiving and providing customer service information, processing payments, and maintaining related records and files for the Cooperative membership. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalency, one year of call center or customer service experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Working knowledge of all office procedures, equipment, and administrative functions. Some knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and computerized accounting. Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers in a professional and courteous manner. This position requires skill and aptitude in operating computer programs. The candidate must possess the ability to learn multiple computer programs and interfaces. General knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet protocols (Word, Outlook, Excel) is a prerequisite for consideration.
