Paul Healey

Board Treasurer

Paul Healey was elected to the board in March 2020.  He brings a wealth of financial knowledge to the board and has lived in Pahrump for the last 14 years. Paul has been a CPA for 42 years with a diverse financial background.  This included serving as a CFO of a large organization.    It is important that the board works to improve Valley Electric’s future.  Paul said “my financial expertise and experience will be beneficial in helping to set and meet goals for the co-op.”

Paul believes characteristics of a good board member are taking the job seriously, staying involved, and caring about members. To effectively do the job, you must care about the mission of the co-op and the board.  Valley and the board should focus on our mission as a utility and point efforts towards producing our own power.  Also, equally important is continuing to focus on the Co-op’s financials.

Interacting with the membership is key to the success of the co-op, which is very important to Paul.  It is important to “answer the questions or concerns members may have,” Paul said.  “Looking to the future, the co-op must continue to focus on producing and storing our own power.”

The mission and vision of Valley are important to Paul.  The idea of your energy provider being a cooperative, is important in the fact that collectively we own it.  As a board member representing District 6, Paul cares about the organization, its members, and the community.
