Frank Jarvis

Board Secretary

Frank Jarvis was appointed to the VEA Board of Directors in September of 2021 representing District 3.  He has a rich history in the area, having lived in Beatty since 1994.  With deep roots and being well known in his community, he is an important part of the board representing the members of District 3.

Frank graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. This led him to his career with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, where he served the community as a Lieutenant.  During his tenure with the department, he carried the National Colors at the Law Enforcement Memorial in Carson City for 17 years, was an Area Commander, the Honor Guard Commander, and the Fleet Manager.  He retired after 21 years of fulfilling service.  Regarding his experiences in the community, Frank said “I worked in management or leadership roles throughout most of my career and the most rewarding was volunteering to coach local sports.”

One of the challenges that Frank understands is Valley Electric’s business climate is changing.  This makes Valley’s mission even that more important.  “Valley’s mission to provide affordable and consistent service, coupled with resolute and loyal employees improves all our communities,” Frank stated.

Frank is eager to continue to bring his vast experience to the board to better Valley and its family of businesses.  He knows that challenging times are ahead and believes “Valley’s priorities should include growing and improving Valley Communications, maintaining consistent affordable power supply, and retaining and growing our employees.”

Focusing on the future, Frank is appreciative of his time serving on the board and is grateful to work as team with the other board members to move Valley in a positive direction.
