As editor of our local newsletter, I believe I could be a bridge for information between Valley Electric
Association and the Co-Op consumers here in Sandy Valley, which would make me a good director as I
could stay on top of the latest information to pass along. Also, with my involvement in several groups
(American Legion, Senior Center, Specialty Events), I am easy to find and very approachable for those
with concerns for the Board. I have a true interest in renewable energy, especially solar, and my
background in cable television and working alongside the electric company assists in my understanding
of the basics of an electrical system. Those who know me would say I’m reliable, care about our
community, and truly embrace the rural lifestyle. I would bring a lot of value to the Board of Directors,
District 5, since I’m attentive, inquisitive, and detail-oriented. Thank you very much!

I have a lifetime of technical knowledge and experience. I worked Steel and Coke producing plants, a Food processing plant, an automobile parts stamping plant and a large water utility. I completed two apprenticeships. I have an associate degree and hold four additional technical certificates. I hold a Nevada Electrical Qualifications Card as a Journeyman Electrician. I also hold two state water operator certificates. I hold a Water Distribution III and a Water Treatment II certificate. I am also a private pilot with a multi engine rating. I have always loved science and technology. The knowledge and experience that I have gained over the years has made me an excellent troubleshooter and problem solver. I have also been interested in the environment and alternate energy sources. I was the first to own and operated and Electric Vehicle in Sandy Valley. I have owned a Nissan Leaf since December of 2011. This shows my commitment to the environment. I also understand the importance of keeping energy cost affordable for all of us in a changing world. I see this as an exciting opportunity. I believe that my technical skills, knowledge, experience and desire to make the best decisions for our members qualifies me for this job.
